Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge was established on June 8, 1951. The refuge protects threatened and endangered species and migratory birds, maintains unique Everglades habitat, and provides compatible educational and recreational facilities. The refuge is open to the public from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. The visitor center is open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
