Description

A native of Santa Fe, Argentina, Martin Estrada cannot remember a time when horses were not a part of his life. For four generations the Estrada family has been involved with horses, and the sport of polo. The Estrada family farm is still located in Santa Fe, whereas Martin has built his own farm in Buenos Aires. Martin maintains the family tradition and has organized his own bloodline stock to produce top polo ponies to compete at all levels.Martins' first introduction to the United States was at the age of nineteen, where he was given the opportunity to work with horses and play polo. Through diligence, and hard work, Martin achieved a handicap rating of 6 goals. Two serious polo accidents in 1997-1998 curbed Martins high goal aspirations, but spawned his entrepreneurship in the sport. Some of Martin's professional highlights include playing on the winning teams of the 1998 1994 twenty goal Monte Waterberry tournament, and the 1997-1998 twenty-two goal Sunshine League. In 1997, he was a member of the Isla Carroll polo team, which went on to win the US Open that year. Martin currently carries a 5-goal handicap and plays professional year round in several different leagues, and polo clubs in North and South America.
